Cool.

Not Laibach/NSK inspired, by any chance?
:iconoggleboppiter:
Thank you.

No clue what any of those 2 things are, heh. Its a group submission. ITs inspired by Hitler offing himself in a bunker. You know, based off real events. Not quite sure if he shot himself though, or if he popped a pill.

Well, that's not too surprising that you haven't heard of them. But I was referring to the visual style, and not to the actual content.

Laibach is a rather lame industrial band from Slovenia (Yugoslavia, when they were formed), but the interesting thing about them is that they are less of a band and more an artistic political organisation. It didn't take long from their formation before a lot of other artistic and political people (painters, graphic designers, even a theatre group) grouped around Laibach and eventually became NSK, which is a full blown arts collective that focuses on political themes.

Anyway, the thing is one day I happened to be looking at some Laibach/NSK art[1] [2] [3] [4] [5], loved it to bits, and since then just about every photo I've taken or otherwise got my hands on has ended up looking like your piece, above. So I was more than a little surprised to see something so similar on the front page :).

He shot himself, incidentally, although apparently it is likely that he took cyanide simultaneously. Better safe than sorry, I guess.

Actually, I made the background from scratch, then pasted Hitlers head on a guy playing russian roulette, and posterized it (Geek for making it have only a few colors to draw attention away from my poor job of cutting his head out)

I should have known. I use that same trick all the time, it's one of the great advantages of digital screenprinting.

(Yeah, I like to call the technique of greyscaling and posterizing an image 'digital screenprinting', because it looks like a real screenprinting, only with a fraction of the effort, and makes me sound great. If you're an idiot.)

Rumors are he bit on a cynaide capsule, still its ironic that hitler killed himself
